Neuromath brings out the math talent in every child, nurturing them to love math and be very good at the subject. Neuromath’s success in transforming tens of thousands of ordinary students attain extraordinary results lies in our proprietary Math Talent Development System to build Reasoning & Thinking Skills in a child for math excellence.

We design different programmes to cater to the holistic development of students of different ages (6 to 16 year olds), learning abilities and learning objectives in the areas of mathematical thinking, such as our Pattern Thinkers Math Talent Programme, Focus & Attention Training Programme, & Academic Math Excellence Programme.

The Brains Behind Neuromath
Norman TIEN


Mr. Norman Tien started giving Math tuition at aged 19 to children who hated Math and thus scored way below average. Somehow, he has this gift with ‘problematic’ children which not many tutors wanted to take up such assignments too. He delivered results because he didn’t drill them with worksheets and assessment books. Instead, he took interest in their hobbies (like computer games, chess, Power Ranger toys, etc) and tailor-made the Math lesson plans and the Math strategies.

Noticing his ‘gift’ in this area, Norman then furthered his studies in cognitive psychology, special education for the gifted and those with learning disabilities, as well as NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). Through these, he was affirmed that his skill sets are not limited to reaching out to the late bloomers, but also the high achievers and the gifted ones as well.

Vanessa ONG

Chief Curriculum Officer - Psychology

Ms. Vanessa Ong graduated from NUS with a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) majoring in Psychology. Upon graduation, she joined Neuromath as a teacher.

Recognising Vanessa’s passion and potential, she was identified and handpicked by Mr. Norman Tien as his protégé. The guidance of Mr. Norman Tien, together with her training in Neuro-Linguistics programming (NLP) and Cognitive enhancement, have provided her with an insight into how enhancing a child’s cognitive abilities will enable the child to become a better problem solver in Mathematics (and beyond). She has since designed materials and programmes that help students to maximise their potential, enabling them to become better problem solvers and inspire them to develop a greater love for Mathematics.
