Just like running a marathon, your child is near to completing his/her 6 years of primary education and the finishing line is just ahead. In this critical phase of the race, do you know if your child is doing the RIGHT thing now?
As observed in many Top schools’ Math examination papers and recent years’ PSLE papers, the commonly tested concepts familiar to most students have been “tweaked” or 2-3 concepts are tested in a single question. These 5 to 8 “new breed” questions are meant to distinguish the AL1 students from the rest of the cohort.
These “new breed” questions will appear to be very challenging and students will normally overspend their time trying to figure out the solutions. More concerning, if students have not been exposed to such questions before, such questions will put even the most prepared ones in a worried mind-state during an exam, inducing them to an undesired mental state that will cause them to make errors in questions that they are usually confident of solving!
Excelling in an exam is a skill. Empower your child with our "Ready for AL1" workshop.
